About Us

Yakima Valley Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting animal welfare, eliminating animal suffering, and reducing pet overpopulation. We also provide assistance to owners who can no longer care for their pet, and individuals who find a stray that needs a new home.

With the addition of our spay and neuter clinic, Valley Spay and Neuter, we are able to provide low income households with affordable and accessible spay/neuter and vaccination alternatives. We believe the prevention of unwanted litters is the most critical way to reduce the number of animals that suffer hunger, neglect, and homelessness. If everyone ensures their pets are spayed or neutered it will go a long way towards eliminating the pet overpopulation crisis in the Yakima Valley.

Our Objectives …

Our primary objectives to meet our mission are:

Promote the welfare of all pets, to eliminate their suffering, and act as an extension of the education of the humane treatment of pets.
Perform whatever duties possible in an effort to provide humane care and treatment for unwanted and displaced pets.
Promote spay/neuter and responsible pet ownership, emphasize the benefits for pet health, behavior, animal population control, and overall animal welfare.
Return lost pets to their owners whenever possible.
Protect and place as many healthy, temperamentally sound pets in homes where they will receive quality, lifelong care.
Provide a second chance at life to those pets who are neglected, abused, homeless, in animal shelters, or who can no longer be cared for by their owner.
Partner with all legitimate rescue resources, individuals, and organizations, in an effort to place pets in homes where they will receive quality, lifelong care.
