Boomer is a perfect lil guy! Best guess for breed is Bichon mix. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs 15.6 lbs. Boomer will require regular grooming.
Boomer was abandoned or dumped in a newly built housing development. He was being fed by a nice family but he would not let them get too close. They called YVPR for help, so we set a trap & got him! Boomer was very much in need of a good bath and grooming. He has warmed up quickly and has adapted to the good life!!
Boomer is a quiet boy. He is very happy sitting with his person getting petted. He also enjoys the occasional play times. He does well with kids.
Boomer does well with other dogs. He loves to play with the small dogs in his foster home. We have not see him with cats.
Boomer is 99% house trained. Because he was not neutered until a week ago & there are male dogs in his foster home, he will mark on occasion.
Boomer likes treats, rides nicely in the car and enjoys walks.
Boomer does have a grade 1 heart murmur. It does not require any medication and has not caused any issues.

An application must be filled out and accepted before a meet can be set up. If accepted, you will hear from us within 72 hours. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before you meet the pet; an adoption may or may not happen at that time.
We do adopt outside the Yakima area IF you are able to come to Yakima to pick up your adopted pet. We do not have a kennel facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Therefore, meets and adoptions take place at either our office or at a place chosen by the adoption coordinator.
If a pet has 'Adoption Pending' beside its name, an adoption is imminent. Please fill out an application anyway because adoptions don't always go through.
Your application will be kept on file for 30 days in case you find another pet you'd like to apply for.
